Katie Mathieu joined MCW Starz this past spring of 2019 and instantly became a part of our MCW Family. She coached our high school teams locally and Nationally while assisting workouts with younger players.

A graduate of UMass Boston, Matheiu is the all-time leader in program history in games played. She began her coaching career as a student assistant coach for the 2018-19 season for the Beacons.
Mathieu appeared in a record 109 games over the past four seasons, including seeing time in a program record 29 games as a senior captain.
Over the course of her four seasons, Mathieu led UMass Boston to three of the best seasons in program history. The Beacons made it to their first two Little East Conference Championship games in her first two years, before winning the program's first-ever LEC Title and making their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance as a senior. UMass Boston went 69-42 during her four seasons, including earning the program's first seven LEC Tournament victories.

Mathieu finished her career third in program history in made 3-point field goals (137), fourth in 3-point field goal percentage (.325) and tied for 14th in career points (745). We are excited to have Katie with us.

Mathieu will continue her education at Suffolk University during fall 2019 in the M.S. Crime and Justice Studies graduate program.
As well as continue her coaching career as a Graduate Assistant for Suffolk’s Women’s Basketball program.
